Gina in Greece!
by Gina
Fancy going on a holiday with children to return and actually feel like you have been on a holiday?
Well we just did it and our lovely destination was Zackynthos, Greece. We stayed at the Periyali Villas which were a 5 minute walk from the stunning Gerakas Beach, which has previously been listed as one of the top 12 beaches in Europe. It's so lovely that the Sea Turtles have even chosen it to lay their eggs for many years.
The villas have an amazing crèche and although we booked the venue partly because of this we found that they boys just loved to spend the entire day at the beach without fighting with each other! This bought back wonderful memories of my childhood when we did the same at Collaroy Basin where we spent hours at the beach creating sand cars and castles, collecting shells and playing in the rock pools. I loved being able to share these experiences with the boys. These long days at the beach can be exhausting for the little ones but I was so pleased of Oscar (2) who would take himself to the sun lounger for a nap when it all got a bit too much - bless!
The Greek tavernas are also a gift from that Greek God as they all had playgrounds to occupy the little ones so that mums and dads could all enjoy their meals and a nice cool beer in peace. Mealtimes were easy and we had our fair share of souvlaki and Greek salads.

To all those UK mums - I highly recommend the Periyali Villas and if you’re in need for a relaxing family holiday (who even knew that these were actually possible!) then I suggest you call Simpson Holidays pronto (or whatever that is in Greek)!
